The structure in this painting is an old abandoned cottage, forgotten for now until there's a need for it.
One particular wintery Manigotagan evening, the moon was large and such a beautiful yellow that without it, the scene would be an ordinary night on the river. It reminded me that sometimes in our life, a person, place or a keepsake will appear, and for only a short time, it makes our world so very special.
Note: When the moon appears orange or yellow, it simply means that the observer is looking at it through more layers of atmosphere... By this time, only yellow and red light will remain unabsorbed. A yellow moon is commonly called the Harvest Moon.
Many thanks to the groups who feature, "A River Moon:"
