Manigotagan is situated near the mouth of the Manigotagan River on the east shore of Lake Winnipeg about 70 kms north of Pine Falls on #304. The town was originally founded to provide access to the sawlogs and timber resources in the area. Wood Falls is located at the outskirts town on #304.
