Description
A lovely lady, Sheena Quesnel/Miller (with her husband, Dan), came to our home last month and shared that she was an ancestor of the Quesnel family who once owned and lived for many years in my home. The Quesnel family were well known in the area, as they took part in the community, trapped, mined, fished and semi farmed in Manigotagan, Manitoba, Canada. This house was built in the 1930's. It was a hotel/boarding house for captains and travelers who ventured to Manigotagan on foot or by ship. It was once a home of awe and beauty.
Yes, we have renovated significantly. :)
I was commissioned by Sheena and her husband to paint this Old Homestead home from years gone by. It is a small, yet big, connection for her to her ancestors. Her ancestors would be very pleased, I'm sure.
Many thanks to the following groups for recognition and support! Women Painters, No Place Like Home, Art from the Past, Painted the old way, Created by my Hands, Wisconsin Flowers & Scenery, and Just Perfect!
