Description
The best time to fish is either early morning (sunrise) or as dusk is setting in (sunset). On this particular day, the sun was setting and Granddad was fishing off the dock. As his granddaughter had been pretending to be a ballerina earlier in the day, and was still in costume, she decided to join her Grandpa on the dock and cast a few herself!
This is the life near the water in Manitoba. It was a moment captured in photo by Joni Vinnell, mother of Eve, and her dad Russell Papegnies. Then painted on canvas to preserve this moment by me.
This image captured my heart because it speaks to an everyday activity that's taken for granted. It's an example of comfort, trust and love not spoken but exhibited.. It speaks to decades of ages between them and an enjoyment to be in each others company. It speaks to your place in the family unit and acceptance that no matter where your previous engagement was, this is home.. Last but not least, it speaks of a little girl, that can dream and play in the ballerina world in one minute, and in a moments flash, pick up a fishing rod and haul in "the big one with Granddad!" What fun to be so young!
Many thanks to the following groups for featuring my painting of “Fishing With A Ballerina:”. Just Perfect, First Friday Gallery, No Place Like Home, Painting The Old Way, World Landscape Lovers of Art, Wisconsin Flowers & Scenery, Created by My Hands, Portrait Art of People and Animals.

This is such a sweet image. Reminds me of my dad and me, only I wore my first two piece swim suit because the weather was scorching.

Such a very glorious piece of heavenly creation that is that lovable , and pure that produces happiness to a soul immediately after looking such gorgeous, detailed, and brilliant creation from every angle! I love it in a way too much as I feel so close to my Grandfather (Father too) as he is a very brilliant yet a very jovial personality with the heart of gold, and I see such same angelic vibes in this very astounding creation! :)
