Description
An inuksuk or Inunnguaq stands boldly on the shores of Hudson Bay in the town of Churchill, Manitoba. The inuksuk is a landmark used by northern aboriginal people to mark a route through the tundra of the arctic.
Though traditionally and still to this day used as a landmark in the circumpolar regions, today the inukshuk is commonly placed as a symbol of friendship and welcome.
This inukshuk is competing for recognition by the northern lights that are most brilliant starting around February each calendar year. Such a beautiful sight!
